GEAPS Exchange Expo 2011
February 26-March 1, 2011
Portland, Oregon
The annual GEAPS Exchange Expo is noted as the grain-handling industry’s largest and best venue for leading grain industry operations professionals and suppliers from around the world to meet. Over 200 exhibitors and numerous educational sessions and workshops provide attendees with an opportunity to see and learn about solutions that can positively impact their facilities.
Two employees of Miller Milling’s Fresno facility, Ron Calloway, Maintenance Manager, and John Renteria, Elevator/Sanitation Superintendent, attended the 2011 GEAPS Expo with the goal of finding a safer way to empty Fresno’s six 500,000 bushel wheat storage bins. Of particular value to them was the session, “Bin Sweeps and Bin Entry: Tackling an Industry Challenge”, as well as numerous other workshops that focused on methods to improve plant wide safety. “GEAPS, as always, proved to be a great resource for safety information and, as in past years, we have already begun to implement at the Fresno mill some of the things we learned,” commented Ron Calloway.
