Ruiz 4 Kids Fiesta

Ruiz 4 Kids, a philanthropic organization started by the employees of Ruiz Foods in 1990, benefits children and youth in the company’s surrounding communities.  The “Embracing Children’s Dreams Fiesta” is an annual Ruiz 4 Kids fundraising event.  Attending this year’s fiesta was NASCAR driver, Ryan Newman, whose Nascar is sponsored by Tornados, a Ruiz Foods brand in its Foodservice Division.

Pictured with Newman are Miller Milling employees Kevin Yarbrough, Damon Sidles and Kevin Sebby.  Miller Milling Company supplies tortilla flour to Ruiz Foods for its frozen Mexican entrée products, and also contributes to Ruiz 4 Kids. 

At the event, Ruiz 4 Kids honored four outstanding community-based organizations of the Central San Joaquin Valley with funding for programs targeting local youth.  Also recognized was Food Express Inc. (FXI), the local trucking company that transports tortilla flour from Miller Milling Company to the Ruiz plants in Tulare and Dinuba.  FXI was awarded a medal for its excellence of service and 100 percent on-time delivery throughout the last year.  Accepting the medal were Jesse Alvarado and Justin Keeney of FXI.
